Miss. Nicola Bates, Parliamentary Candidate, Sheffield Hallam
After graduating from the University of York in 1999, Nicola has worked for one of the UK's largest independent communications consultancy groups and has considerable experience in housing and planning public affairs. She has worked with may different clients from large multinational companies to small charities.
Outside work, Nicola has an interest in social policy, in particular homelessness and crime; this was her fifth year as a volunteer for Crisis Open Christmas. Nicola has been a Special Police Constable and understands the pressures that our police face on a day-to-day basis.
Cllr. Dr. Anne Crampton, Parliamentary Candidate, Sheffield Heeley
Anne moved to Sheffield in 1979 to attend the Sheffield Medical School. After qualifying, Anne worked at the Royal Hallamshire, Northern General and Chesterfield Royal Hospitals, until moving to Berkshire to become a General Practitioner. Dr Crampton is a passionate believer in the NHS providing care irrespective of the ability to pay for everyone 'from cradle to grave'. Outside politics and medicine, Anne has interests in ballroom dancing and playing the double bass in the local orchestra.
In 2008 Anne was elected Parish Councillor and her two keen interests are transport and flood prevention.
Cllr. John Sharp Parliamentary Candidate, Sheffield Brightside & Hillsborough
Originally from Stockton-on-Tees, John moved to Sheffield in 1996 to study at the University of Sheffield; spending eight years in the city before moving to Wakefield in 2004. Since 2000, he has worked for the country's leading plumbing merchants. In 2006, John was elected as Councillor for Hobury & South Ossett in Wakefield where he has held the portfolio of Shadow Environment. John's main political interests are local environment, social mobility and securing a manufacturing base in the UK.
Outside of politics, John has a keen interest in sport, watching many from football to Speedway, Rugby League, reading in particular non-fiction such as politics, history and biographies.
Cllr. Andrew Lee, Parliamentary Candidate, Sheffield Central
Andrew was born in Pontefract in 1979 and has lived in Yorkshire all is life. After University, Andrew began working for a London based jewellery manufacturer before joining the family retail in 2002. Andrew was elected to North Yorkshire County Council in 2005 and re-elected in June 2009. He has held several management positions his local Conservatives Association and is currently a member of his local PPC's campaign team.
Andrew has taken part in many high profile campaigns, most recently he successfully overturned proposals for a 'Eco Town' which the Government planned to build in one of the rural villages in his division. Andrew enjoys music, reading and travelling. He lives in North Yorkshire wife and children.
Mr. Nigel Bonson Parliamentary Candidate, Sheffield South East
Nigel is not career politician but has thirty years experience of public service. He completed thirty years as a police officer, working in both tough and affluent areas – urban and rural. Nigel has spent longs periods in central, regional and local government influencing a range of policy areas and running programmes. He continues to work with criminal justice and advises on neighbourhood regeneration and the management. He describes himself as a good listener, mentor, advisor and problem solver – someone who will make things happen.
Nigel's political priorities are to help get rid of the 'target culture', improve public services and fight for equality. Nigel settled in Sheffield seven years ago. He enjoys travel, road running, cricket and when possible golf.
