NO to AV – the non-partisan, cross-party campaign against the Alternative Vote at the referendum in May 2011 – is inviting members of the public to attend a debate on the Alternative Vote at:
The SCEDU (Sheffield Community Enterprise Development Unit), Mowbray Street on Thursday 17th February from 6.30pm.
This is the first date on a nationwide debate tour, which will see NO to AV take the debate over the Alternative Vote across Britain, as the campaign seeks to increase understanding of the issue in advance of May’s referendum. Each debate is open to members of the public and will be completely fair and impartial, being chaired by an independent local personality.
NO to AV has chosen Sheffield as the first debate city because it is publicly inviting Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg - whose constituency of Sheffield Hallam is located in the city - to come along and be the main speaker in favour of AV.
This meeting is a great opportunity for Conservative members and those sharing conservative ideals to come and find out why the ‘No to AV’ campaign has the full support of the Conservative Party.
