Richard Blyth, Chairman of the Sheffield Conservative Federation

Great changes have taken place in our country. In the space of just three weeks we have lost our great Queen Elizabeth II and welcomed a new monarch, King Charles III, we also have a new Prime Minister, Liz Truss.

The outpouring of love and grief from all walks of life and from all around the world are evidence of the huge respect and sense of loss that we feel for the Queen. The funeral was a magnificent and fitting event for someone who gave a life of selfless service and made me feel proud to British.

As a country we have difficult times ahead, but we can feel positive about the opportunities that a new beginning brings us. We now need to unite behind our new leaders and move forwards.

I'm pleased to say membership of Sheffield Conservatives has increased significantly over recent months. People join the Party for many reasons, however we are always looking for volunteers to help us with campaigning, input on policy and other local party activities. If you'd like to find out more about how you can get involved, please contact office@sheffieldconservatives.org
